The Superstar was originally introduced on the courts in 1969 for testing, and was released to the public in 1970 as the first low basketball shoe to feature an all-leather upper and the world-renowned rubber shell toe. By the mid 70s, three quarters of all NBA players were wearing new shell toes from adidas. "These are beautiful shoes. They don't only go well with sports apparel they also look great with jeans. I didn't find them extremely comfortable, but that is more likely because I'm still in the break in period. Also you have to make a conscious effort not to get them dirty, but if you do, with a damp towel you can clean them right off. Bottom line you won't regret buying these shoes. "
