" I don't own any other Docs-- I haven't previously been impressed with their styles. After buying this shoe, I see that I was wrong not to buy some simply because they are well made and practical-- this is a very capable shoe. Sticky rubber, amazing support, eerie level of shock absorption. If I wasn't trying to keep them shiny, I'd hike in these no problem. The quality is much better than I had expected. Very nice construction and a great value. The lack of laces on this model doesn't seem to matter as far as support. However, the tongue does stick out a bit, causing it to catch a lot on some pants. This limits the usefulness of this style to pants, which have a looser leg. Another strap would help here. These also lack a loop, which makes them a bit hard to put on at first. This may be in the interest of style but it's not something I expected"
